The landscape

The EU regulatory layer.

MiCA — the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets regulation — covers most of what Web3 games do natively. Holding player funds. Running a marketplace. Transferring tokens. Most Web3 games trigger MiCA the moment they touch a player wallet.

Genesis Engine operates under MiCA at the platform level. Developers integrate the SDK and ship to EU players without holding their own CASP licence. The numbers, the timeline, and the obligations live on the compliance page for developers who want the detail.

Genesis Engine carries the regulated parts of your Web3 game economy: identity, settlement, tooling, safety. Four foundations. One platform. No licences for you to chase.

01 · Compliance

Compliance

KYC, AML, custodial wallet management, and regulatory reporting at the platform layer. MiCA-ready. CASP licence held centrally so developers do not need to.

02 · Payment rails

Payment rails

In-game sales, peer-to-peer trades, and token transfers run through licensed payment infrastructure. EU-legal by default. Chain-agnostic.

03 · Developer tooling

Developer tooling

SDKs for Unity and Unreal. APIs for custom engines. NFT minting, marketplace, and crypto tax built in. Use what you need.

04 · Safety

Safety

Player funds sit behind a SAFU-style reserve, modelled on Binance's Secure Asset Fund for Users. Smart contracts audited by Hashlock.

Nice to see someone thinking about all the hats a founder has to wear in blockchain gaming, and finally offer some structured hand-holding through it all. I care about token economics, regulatory compliance, in-game marketplaces, player protection… but I really just want to focus on the fun.

FAQ

Common questions.

What is Genesis Engine?
Genesis Engine is compliance infrastructure and payment rails for Web3 games. It handles KYC, AML, custody, NFT minting, marketplace, and crypto tax at the platform level, so developers can launch Web3 games to EU players without holding their own CASP licence. Genesis Engine is in development at Triolith Games AB, a Swedish company.
What is MiCA and why does it affect Web3 games?
MiCA — the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets regulation — requires most Web3 game developers serving EU players to register as a Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP). The full compliance burden runs €500,000 to €1 million in year one. Genesis Engine is building the licensed infrastructure so developers do not bear that cost alone.
Does MiCA apply to developers outside the EU?
Yes. MiCA applies based on where your players are located, not where your team is headquartered. A US, UK, or Singapore developer serving EU players falls within MiCA scope when the game involves custodial wallets, in-game token transfers, or an NFT marketplace.
How do I get my game on Genesis Engine?
Apply via the waitlist form on this page. We review each application and will get back to you once the platform is ready. Early applicants can sign a letter of intent to secure access at platform launch.
Is Genesis Engine live?
No. Genesis Engine is in active development. We are onboarding developers now through the waitlist for launch readiness.
Which chains does Genesis Engine support?
Genesis Engine is chain-agnostic by design. The platform supports multiple chains independently. We do not connect chains to each other.
What is Triolith Games AB?
Triolith Games AB is a Swedish company incorporated in Jörn, Sweden. The company builds Genesis Engine and is pursuing a CASP licence under MiCA.
